How we select and sort leather stocklots
Before we deliver leather stocklots to our customers we have before to do a big work for selecting at best all the material:
BY SIZE: We have 3 possibilities:
Full hides (or almost)
Minimum size for calf leather is 6 square feet (like 78 х 78 cm)
Leather pieces (or "half hides")
Maximum size for calf leather is 6 square feet (like 78 х 78 cm)
Minimum size for calf leather is 2 square feet (like 45 х 45 cm)
Leather scraps ()
Maximum size for calf leather is 2 square feet (like 45 х 45 cm)
Minimum size for calf leather is one full adult hand (like 20 x 10 cm)
BY TYPE OF LEATHER:
The most importants are:
Grain calf leather
Split (from cow)
Patent
Embossed
Goat
Sheep
Suede
Patent on goat
Embossed goat
Linings (Pig, Goat, Cow)
and so on...
