Basically casualty hides are cattle hides not slightered, but from natural death.
Are these hides used for leather production?
Normally yes. They will be graded after damp blue tanning. This is the first grow archaic that buyer can see the result of the GRAIN. Hides can have (but must not) have grain defects. These grain defected hides can be used for buffing, embossed and printed leathers.

What client said is WRONG !!! Because ........ yes he is right that casualty hides can be (but must not) of degrade character. With the description of damp salted CASUALTY cattle hides the complete one of buyer knows that these are casualty hides and no traditional hides from regular slaughtherhouse killing. Our indicted selection taking into consideration 80 % A, 20 % B is the thesame as for comfortable regulary hides. That means of defects taking into consideration holes, cuts ... = defects these are visual in that raw (damp salted) condition. Casualty hides can have grain defects, but this can be visual by yourself after wet blue tanning process. But we sell in raw (wet salted) and not in wet blue.
For your auxiliary opinion: Casualty hides are from animals that were NOT killed in slaughterhouse. These animals died almost the pasture or in the stable of the farmer. Then the dead body comes neighboring daylight or some hours highly developed to a special slaughterhouse and sever the hides from the body by robot (= robot flayed). But animals were NOT killed in any slaughterhouse, but died upon natural showing off at farmers place.
But with the prices in checking account of regulary hides to casualty hides .... casualty hides are app. 30 50 % cheaper. So behind the descrption of wet salted CASUALTY cattle hides each tanner knows what it is and what he can manufacture from such hides.
