SELLING CRUST LEATHER

Crust is the final stage of leather tanning process.  After first and second tanning the leather is finally ready to be used for manufacturing. To be correct,  crust leather is not yet complete, normally still needs the 'finishing' process, but some shoe producers, especially exclusive and prestige companies, prefer to buy crust leather for their production. Purchasing crust leather they do their own finishing. In this way they are able to offer a much best and fine fashion product.

But what is crust leather,  and what have you to consider buying crust leather?

What is crust leather

Leather is crust after first and second tanning. First tanning is normally chrome-based and its purpose is mainly to avoid putrefaction of the leather.  For leather preservation it is much convenient to leave it wet rather than dry. Since the light colour of the chrome and the wet status of the leather after first tanning leather is named WET BLUE. A second tanning is done with the purpose to make the leather ready for a specific manufacturing. This more specific tanning might be done with a much wider range of chemicals. Only now becomes possible to speak about "leather for shoes" or "leather for bags", "leather for  garment". It is true that the selection has been done since the salted skins thinking to the final use of the leather; nevertheless,  the specific process to make the leather suitable for its final  use i
